Keeping Noosa Hinterland Connected Through Better Hearing

Independent, family-driven audiology with 18 years of experience — offering hearing tests, hearing aids, tinnitus therapy, wax removal and children’s care.

Our clinic

Welcome to Cooroy’s only audiology clinic. Being truly independent means we work with all brands of hearing aids, ensuring the right solution for your lifestyle, not just what a global chain wants to sell. With 18 years of clinical experience, Nick offers more than just hearing tests and hearing aids. As an accredited Brainwave TRx provider, he can deliver a groundbreaking new tinnitus treatment — with or without hearing aids — alongside tailored management strategies. Nick is also experienced working with children, and gentle microsuction ear wax removal at a trainer level.

As part of the Parkyn family, Noosa pioneers since 1878, Nick brings a proud tradition of integrity and community service to everything he does. We’re also proud to provide free hearing tests and government-funded hearing aids for eligible pensioners and veterans (conditions apply under the Australian Government Hearing Services Program). As well as the pensioner subsidies, convenient payment options are available with private health HICAPS gap payments and Medicare rebates (with GP, ENT, or neurologist referrals, or GP management plans).

Here, you’ll find passionate, expert, local care — and a commitment to keeping our community connected.

About Nick

I’m Nick Parkyn, audiologist and proud member of the Parkyn family — a family that has been part of the Noosa community since 1878. For me, audiology isn’t just a profession; it’s a continuation of a family ethos built on trust, service, and genuine care for locals.

With 18 years of practice experience, I’ve worked across almost every corner of the hearing industry — from clinical care to leadership, education, and training. I’ve served as a state manager, a subject matter expert and trainer on hearing aids across more than 100 clinics in Australia and New Zealand, and have worked in the not-for-profit sector promoting hearing awareness. I’ve also mentored clinicians and worked with a hearing aid manufacturer, training others to deliver best-practice hearing care.

But above all, what I enjoy most is being “on the tools” — working directly with the public, providing care that improves lives every day. That’s why I’ve stepped away from the corporate game and global chains to run an independent clinic, where the focus is always on people, not profits.

As a fully accredited audiologist (endorsed by the Audiological Society), I offer a high level of expertise and scope of care. My clinic is also Cooroy’s only full-time audiology practice, ensuring continuity, availability, and consistent care.

Being independent means I’m not tied to any one hearing aid brand, so I can recommend solutions that truly suit your needs. Beyond hearing devices, I’m one of the few accredited providers of Brainwave TRx — an innovative therapy that can actively treat tinnitus, even without hearing aids.

I’m also available for community presentations on hearing awareness or on the history of the Noosa Shire, reflecting both my professional and personal passions. My goal is simple: to provide expert, independent care with a personal touch — helping you hear better, live better, and stay connected.
